For me it is the Gameking. They shoot good in my guns and they put things down pretty quick.

The 150 Hornady whacks deer hard. I use it in my "business load" for deer.

Don't waste your money.... I have shot two deer this year. A doe and a 175# 8pt with 150 ttsx in 308 win. They shoot great out a my 700 , but for hunting purposes accuracy with shots under 200yds, the cheap core-lokts shoot plenty good and seem to knock the chit out of a whitetail compared to the ttsx. Both ran 60-75 yds. Last few I shot last year with core-lokts were DRT. Remington's slogan, the "deadliest mushroom in the woods" works damn good for me. I think a lot of folks get caught up in a gotta have the best most expensive chit syndrome. Shoot what puts the deer in the dirt the best. Might be something different for you. Federal blue box shoots the best out of my dads 308 . Also a soft point and it knocks their dick in the dirt.

IMO, a 30cal 150 grain pill is all the knock down you will ever need for any whitetail on this earth. And I'm sure plenty of elk have been taken with the same load. If I ever get out west, I think I would step up to a 165 or 180 for elk based on what I see people recommend.

Also, the Hornady American Whitetail isn't expensive ammo IIRC.

Flip a coin. Largest whitetail I ever took was just over 240 lbs on the hoof. 150 Speer HotCore from the 308, in and out, and he piled up. Deer aren't all that tough to kill. All deer including elk.

I don't shoot factory ammo, but I use ALOT of Hornady interlock bullets in many different guns.
They just work, period.
I don't drink or Smoke. I spend my money on gunpowder and gasoline.

killindeer, not the same round, but my first handload kills were with 160gr SGK and 160gr NPT in a 7mm RM on WT deer at about 100yd. Both bullets put the deer down on their tracks and exited, wound cavities were good, so it means the bullets opened up and held. I have no doubt that a 165gr SGK should behave similarly. They are cheap too.

For me it is the Gameking. They shoot good in my guns and they put things down pretty quick. This a hundred times over. I have yet to find a gun they won't do at least 1.5moa or better in, and have had great results on whitetails with them.

I dislike Sierra bullets for hunting game, OK for prairie dogs and critters that I don't want to save their hide. Sierra's have failed on a whitetail doe's shoulder - never entered the chest cavity (165 grain from 30-06). They have failed on my B-I-L's elk in his 300 WM. I like Hornady Interlocks - they always work well.
For the time is coming when people will not put up with sound doctrine, but having itching ears, they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own desires, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander away to myths.

Good god Killindeer, please tell me you do not make important decisions wherever you work?
Your 3 current threads are exhausting.

If it's any help, I doubt you'll find a "bad" deer hunting load using any lead soft point bullets in 150-180gr weight on deer in 308 Win. from Remington, Winchester, Federal, or Hornady.

You should be well satisfied with their terminal performance. They're topped with the same bullet I use in my standard handload for my core deer rifle.
