The local locker where we took ours hangs them 2 weeks. When we hung at home in a cellar, it might not go a full 2 weeks. We'd cut when they has some good mold growth goin' on......

I grew up next door to my grand dads locker plant in La Veta Colorado. My dad and I killed every Saturday and every beef hung for a minimum of 14 days.

8-10 beef hanging in the cooler kept someone home all the time to make sure a cooler didn't fail.

Not sure though, I'll find out when we drop this one off.

Your own cooler?

Gettin' pretty fancy!

Later.

Not too fancy. I'm planning to build one. There was a thread on here a while back that peaked my interest. I think guys are building them for way less than $1000.

Our season here is usually way to warm to hang a deer. We had a few days this year that would work, but most of the rifle season the highs were in the mid to upper 60's. When I shot my bow buck it was 90 degrees. That was a gut and dash to the Mennonites!

Thank goodness we have the Mennonites a few miles away for meat processing. I like doing it myself, but it's not always practical with the weather. They do a fabulous job. It's by far the cleanest locker I've ever visited. We take them a couple hogs each year too.

I enjoy handguns and I really like shotguns,...but I love rifles!
