Plan on trying them but haven't yet. I hear good things and if they are like the 130 TTSX they will be great.

JOC was right. The 270 Winchester on a Model 70 is a great combination as is the 30/06 and 375 H&H

RinB I believe is one person that has used them. Might look up some of his old posts on the subject.

Run'em side by side with a 120 TTSX @ 3,400 and see whatcha get. 162-168 is the best trick 7RM's got. For even more fun, see what .277 110 TTSX looks like at 3,400.

I don't have much love for light monos when big slick ones are around, but I know what you're saying. I still haven't shot anything but 162/168s through my last 2 7mm Rems. I can't find a reason to waver.

The guys in my deer and big game hunting camp use light, fast Barnes bullets and so far we have had terrific results with 100gr 25's, 110gr 270's and 120gr 7mm's. Out to 500 yards, speed is what we need smile With speeds in the 3400 plus range, we don't have to do any turret twisting, just point and shoot out to 350 or a bit more with a maximum PBH sight in. After that, holdover is still quite minimal.

To the OP's question, the LRX is merely a slightly elongated and more sloped Ogive and boat tailed 110gr TTSX bullet. Would give a guy a 'best of both worlds' experience IMO. High BC, good speeds AND wonderful on game performance with deep penetration. I could totally dig on these from a 270 Weatherby. I loaded some 145gr LRX loads for my wild game butcher friend in his 7mm RemMAg and he is cutting up my deer for free to get some more after using them in Colorado, Wyoming, California and locally over the last year. Best of both worlds, in his experience too.

Best of both worlds is music to my ears. Been thinking about adding a 7RM to the stable, but am losing interest rapidly. Trying to keep it simple....

Pondering it myself, but I don't hunt the west very much. What I have does it pretty well.

This. Wanna shoot light bullets at warp speed? Done. Wanna launch uber-high BC's? Done.

Old thread, but I've recently been working with this bullet in a 270 Wby - shoots identical to the 130 TTSX for me. 76 gr RE 26 is getting 3520 fps and 3/4 MOA pretty consistently. I have some loaded up to hunt with this season so hopefully will be able to give a more detailed report soon.

This was a few years back with the 130 TSX and 76 gr RE 25 at 3550 fps. Steep quartering away shot at 70-80 yards went in just in front of the hip and landed just under the hide in front of the off shoulder - almost end to end penetration. I'd expect similar results with the 129 LRX...

Dang....funny as hell to see this old thread. 5 years later the 7RM came and went, as did the handloading. And now they are making these as factory fodder.
