Wow....that is the first time in 10s of thousands of posts on the BTE that makes me question veracity.
How many blue pills did it take to pull that off?
Curious minds etc...

Gruff, you get the beast running? Yeah. And I changed my mind. With the wind that kicked up it is [bleep] cold. Not balls cold, but [bleep] cold.

I know they're not bred for brains, but at some point today they're going to go "oh, chit.. this was a bad idea." We've had several head Winter out there over the years and didn't find them until the following Fall. Those Angus are tough [bleep]. This past Fall we ended up with a big slick bull calf from a cow who spent the Winter out there. Maybe if I started naming all of them I'd know which one was missing? Couple years ago some snowmobilers came upon the worlds biggest tree well. Had a big bull in it. Ranchers had given up and thought maybe wolves..... I guess it had eaten all the branches up as high as it could....... They tried for a couple days to figure a way to get it out, But it was in the back country with no way to get to it cept snowmobile. It lost. Chitty way to go. Dog, nice lookin' shotgun and ladies! Gruff, it was a little brisk today.

tank heater took a chit. I think my dick fell off on the way back to the hizzous. But, best thing is the way it's blowing, tomorrow you won't know to look at it that I spent 3 hours plowing everything out. The bucket and hydraulics on that [bleep] are some homemade african engineering. It was a liiiiiittle bit wopperjawed, now that bucket is way off to one side. I'm just waiting for the 20 lbs of weld to break on one of those arms and send a piece through my grape. As my long lost BFF would say "I'm glad I'm not a farmer, I'd [bleep] shoot myself." laffin

Chilly here too 5 above feels like -12. Just fed the cows for the first time this year. Hopefully we can get a warm spell yet. C, I do think it's safe to say that Indian Summer is officially over....grin We've been feeding calves and dries for a month but haven't even caked the cows yet, ton of grass on the river-bottom this year. Bred heifers on cake for a month, trying to keeping them fat and sassy. My dad rowed out a bunch of straw bales yesterday. Looks like a 3-4 day cold stretch. Wind should go down sometime, hopefully calm on the really cold nights. You guys must have pretty good wind breaks built up there?

As my long lost BFF would say "I'm glad I'm not a farmer, I'd [bleep] shoot myself." laffin Dude, now is the perfect time to be a farmer. You can't farm in this chit. Sit inside in your fancy heated shop and tinker on the tractor, that's what I'd do. That or go on snow mobile trips and ice fishing and hunting most of the Fall, my farmer have it good this time of year....grin They do have to haul a lot grain to the elevator on icy roads though, that would suck! What also sucks is working on waterers. I snabbed a piece of 1" blue board(or whatever it's called) and used it this morning to insulate the tops of a couple small, heated setups. Really easy to do, no measuring tape involved, just eyeball and make a wedge fit.....grin You had to do a little electrical work?

Think energy bars for cattle, made out of grain, molasses, vitamins/minerals, all the good chit pregnant cows need. $250-300/ton.
The wine cork lookin' stuff.
I have tried it before and it's not that good, not bad but not good. The dogs will chew on a piece about once a day but they really don't like either.
Cows on the other hand frikkin' love it. They come running to the cake pickup.

No thank God or I'd shoot all the [bleep] things. laffin
Just one of those submersibles. I hadn't thought of the blue board, but I don't think I could keep it in. (that's what she said).
Next summer I'm going to ceiling the shop so when I get the woodstove in there cranking a guy really can do shcit.
Agreed though, right now is the best time to be a farmer. It's being a rancher that could induce suicide. I've tried to explain the difference to Dave, but he is unable to grasp it. Thus my mistatement earlier in true Dave form.
