Federal turkey loads with 2 ozs of copper plated #4s work wonders on geese.

So does #4 buck!

When you could get #2 lead shot I would load 2 1/2 ozs in 3 1/2 10 gauge for my mag 10.
At 75 yards they would go thru 1/2 " sheet of ply wood

I was just videoing from the side of the field. Don't think they are decoy shy, but I'll find out.
Steel bb's are pretty nasty, alright limited distance, but geese sure don't like em.

I tryed steel shot when it was first mandated and I wore out two dogs chasing cripples and one shot gun barrel from that hard [bleep].
[bleep]. I shoot lead and take my chances.
No difference than a speeding ticket to me and I sleep better knowing the coyotes aren't eating my goose jerky.

What I don't get, is I can sit at the river and shoot lead at doves, but a month later, I can sit in the same spot, but have to shoot steel at ducks?

Why?

Doesn't make sense to me.
