We had -24F last night, a warm +7F predicted for tonight.
Anything over 0F feels nice, Winter can GFY.
Some degenerate, [bleep], inbred, gut shot one of our bred heifers last night.
We were one short this morning at feeding. Counted several times and always was 1 short. Go looking and see one laying in some tall grass about 30 yards from a county road.
Blood on the side of her (bloated)belly, still a touch warm so I quick skinned the area and sure enough a bullet hole.
Pissed.
Why do something like that to a damn cow?

I can't imagine living in a big city and having to ride the train/bus everywhere. 45,000 is plenty big enough for me and sometimes that seems like 'way too many!

Sam I saw this happening to Harry Vold, the bucking stock contractor SE of Pueblo Colorado when coyote prices were up in 1969-70. Azz holes shooting stock close to the road to shoot coyotes off of.
