That Stude is a sweet truck. I can't remember ever seeing a 4x4, at least not a factory one. Very, very cool truck.

Thanks. Here's some factory photos and brochures if anyone is interested. My 1/2-ton 1959 is a Deluxe model that came with a 289 Stude V-8.

One more 4X4 Stude picture. This is a 1-ton survivor with a 3/4-ton in the background.

There's something about the grills on the late 30's to early 50's gmc trucks that are just so cool.

Is that engine a 256 or a 239?

It's a 239 Merc flathead.

I love old 4 x 4s like that with those old Bias Ply Snows like that... those darn tires sure would go thru the mud...

crossed a flooded and mudded field once in a 51 Willy's Truck with those old type of Bias Plied Snows on them... I was totally amazed at that darn old thing...was more rustied, than Metal left on it...

Well, I've about got her back on the road. I decided to yank the wiring loom out and redo it with an EZ Wire kit. My slow season is just before hunting season, so I figured three weeks would be adequate. Haha. Jokes on me. Turns out wiring a whole vehicle is a very tedious job and I'm very slow at it. Not to mention that I decided to put in another dash and aftermarket ac/heater. Trying to get it wrapped up so we can take it to Washington for Christmas.

Hey I am going to be back home in Hooterville in a week or week and a half... if you plan on passing up via I5, let me know and maybe we can grab a bite to eat or something... if you have the family with ya and they don't want to, I'd certainly understand that one.... my wife's that way all the time... whistle
