I couldn't resist buying a high point jhp 45 at our local shop for 158.99 pre tax. thought it would make a good floor board in the pickup gun. it turns out to be a nice shooting gun. 4 inches for 14 shots at 15 yrds with 225g rn lead over 6g of unique. have about 100 rnds through it with one fail to fire because of a bad primer. wish it wasn't so heavy but I guess I can use it to bludgeon if needed. over all for the cost I'm happy. anybody else have good or bad news about one of these?

They are ugly as sin but they do work and come home cheaply. Whats not to like if you need a gun on short funds?

really surprised me with the accuracy. think it has found a home under my pickup seat. couldn't do that with my 1946 colt 1911. have been a fan of the 45 acp for ever and now I can carry it with out worrying about wreaking a collectable.

I also like and respect the Hi-Point firearms for what they are. Accurate, dependable, indestructible, and inexpensive.
An older friend picked up a Hi-Point 9MM pistol at a Gun Show this morning and liked the looks, feel, and price of the gun. He also liked the tactical Hi-Point 9MM Carbine on display and got a 'package deal' on the two.
I told him about all the negative comments and bashing long surrounding High-Point pistols from all the Hi-Point Haters - But he doesn't care about any of that. He makes up his own mind!

A friend bought a carbine just cause it was so cheap. It has been a lot of fun and accurate enough to do the job. He actually has shot 2 woodchucks with it from a surprising distance
