I replace valve cover gaskets every 50K, if they don't need them sooner...

I'm asking here, do you get the usage you want out of these scopes or do you plan on replacing them at intervals or just shoot them till they fail?
I have never had much success with lower end scopes, they always seem to fail at the most inopportune of times.

My FFIIs have been used and abused more than any scope I own ( except a Leupold VXIII 1.5-5) And Ive yet to have an issue with any of them.

OK, heres the unveiling of the latest, greatest, and consummate example of a .223AI Is this the right thread for this? Can't wait to hear how it shoots! Did you finish the barrel at 22"?
I enjoy handguns and I really like shotguns,...but I love rifles!

Yep! It was a tiny tiny bit big for the whole barrel channel so I opened it up a thad, and since its heavier than a Rem. Mtn rifle contour it gives the gun a bit of a muzzle heavy feel, which I love I can wait to shoot that MoFo!

I have Leupolds on every thing now, the cold and moisture seems to eventually cause every thing else to fog up.

Thinking a guy could slum FF II's for a long time without a failure....
Side note, one of my hunting pards is a big bore Contender fanatic, and he shoots them, not just for admiring. After years of trials and errors all of his hard kickers wear Burris stuff. He's had multiple failures of the other major brands, including one on an african lion hunt that made it interesting.

They are easily my favorites, but when I was in the gun biz and could pro form A burris I got them so freakin cheap I couldn't say no, used the schitt out of them and can't find fault with them.

And, for the record, I think the Burris dotz are waaaaay better than the loopy dots.

Ingwe, do you have that throated for the heavies? Continuing on the mid 50's bullet weights? This loyal subject awaits enlightenment. Actually do you think the 62+ weights are mo'better, or not nessecary?

I think at normal hunting ranges they are completely unnecessary .hence there are no mag mods on this gun, no throat for heavies, and the plan is to use 55gr TTSXs.and maybe 62s down the road. The ONLY reason I stepped up in weight from the 50s Ive been using was that they had so little surface area and pressure, the velocity was no better than a regular .223otherwise the 50s went through, and killed, everything I ever pointed them at.
