I'm not a religious man, I believe when we humans die that's it, feed us to the fish and be done with it.
Heaven is a special place where all dogs go, a place where the lake water is always warm, no one misses cup winged mallards and every day the morning breeze carries the scent of long tailed roosters.
A place where The passenger side truck windows are always down, the seats already ripped and the lady at the bank never forgets to put dog treats in that tube.
If we as people were ever capable of showing love like our dogs do the world would be a better place for all of us.
Most people today don't deserve the pleasure of having a dog as part of their life brings, if you are, well then you will understand ............

^^^^ That. This is a pic taken on Ingwedog's last fishing trip, I haven't posted it till now Roxy girl last February literally minutes before she crossed over...really couldn't even stand and the docs were nice enough to give us a blanket for her to lay on in her final moments...I thought I would be ok and that the wife and kids would be a mess....include me in the mess file. Cried like a school girl.

Mojo, the piece was about OLD DRUM?? Beautiful..
jimy, when I see how dogs are treated by most people, it is sickening.. They deserve far more love than 99.9 percent of the people in this world.. I had and Indian gal in class one time that was very aware of the world for her age.. We visited a lot, about the Indian view of things.. One day I ask her how do your folks view heaven??? She told me something I have never ever forgotten.. Our view of heaven is," it is the happiest days of your life forever.." No doubt dogs will be there.. And what a beautiful view of the next life...

Dog Hunter, Glad to hear about the change.. Dogs are awesome.. Our very best friends.. Thanks Wyo...he's pretty much a complete badass. He doesn't have the best nose I have ever seen, but he uses his head when chasing birds. It's absolutely phenomenal how he hunts. He also knows if he flushes birds out of range, he doesn't get to retrieve them. He's my buddy. Wimmens dig him too.

He is a beautiful boy.. I had a golden that was a great bird dog, but took Tobe several years to learn flushing birds too far was not to be done.. Still at times his energy over came his good sense.. Not to matter, at times I missed a good shot that he spent much energy making happen...

On a cheerier subject I finally got some luck fishing this year...They're not too big, as I have caught several 30+ inchers at this spot in the past, but at least I'm catching something. I was beginning to think the Flaming Gorge was a new dead zone.

Close, they're ling (or burbot)...the nastiest, creepiest fish you will ever love catching.
I believe it is basically a freshwater cusk.

Yup! Have them in the Big Lakes here in NH....we typically call them cusk, but also ling, burbot and even lawyers.

Are you ice fishing or open water river fishing?
Lake Erie has those ugly bustards too.
