It's almost a shame I will have to leave to hunt in Africa with the great carp shooting right now. I was so anxious to get on the water after being away on business a few days that I went out for three hours on a local lake and shot some. Here are a couple photos of the better ones. The biggest was 19lb.10oz.
I had a very large carp in(on) the boat, likely near 30lbs. I used the net to get him in. While standing on my shooting platform I had the arrow out and the fish was a little large for the net. So while getting that slimey bugger out he slid off the deck and back into the lake.
Live and learn, no more arrow removal on the shooting platform, all get "un-stuck" on the floor of the boat now! What a shame, easily my biggest fish of the year and never able to weigh him!
See, ......even a guy like me with 1000's of big fish to my credit can be a complete idiot once in a while!
Looking behind me you can see the platform I shoot from. I also added a bow holder and a mtn bike waterbottle holder.
My foot operated trolling motor up on the platform makes this inexpensive 15 foot aluminum boat quite the functional carp hunting machine! I'll get a few photos posted of the night hunting arangement. with the little honda generator and the halogen lights.
