Speaking of Squirrels....my son just called to tell me that our Rat Terrier, "Chance", was on guard duty watching for critters and spotted a Red Squirrel running int he woods that is my back yard. He let Chance out the slider and went to fetch his shotgun, hoping that the dog would tree it until he arrived. When he arrived on scene, the dog had already caught and dispatched said squirrel by shaking it to death!

Yesterday he caught a Chikadee as it attempted to fly away, he is quite the little leaper!

Two days ago he and my son finished off a big azz Opossum that was wandering by in the woods just before dark.....damn dog has become a killing machine!

And more. But your powers of observation are sharp. I never noticed that before.

Evening all!

I just got word I have been admitted to an internet based Masters of Natural Resources program at Oregon State! I can't decide if I am excited or not! I won't have as much time to surf the BTE every evening to check out da whores. It will also cut into my hunting time...damn!

Dog Hunter, if it is something you truly want, you should go for it.. My late wife loved going to school.. She would have had a phd. if she would have done the paper..
But four years of the college crap was enough for me.. but if it will make you $, or make you happier with yourself and life, you should do it..
As for myself, I would rather go hunt coyotes.. Best of luck with your decision..

If you're gonna be "in the system", having credentials and playing the game helps.

A professional license is also a good way to go vs.college. By that I reference a licensed electrician, plumber, A/C contractor, exterminator, real estate broker etc.

If outside the system then two things.

Don't need to do a hundred thing right. Just need to do 1 thing right 100 times.

How long is it?

I've been wanting a Masters for a while so I for sure will be doing it.


2 years (4 semesters) but they are condensed semesters so it is really only a few months a year, but it is going to be a busy few months.

On top of my full time job plus hunting/fishing/surfing the BTE I will be busy for sure. In my line of work (I am one of those evil BLMers)) a Master's is almost (read: almost) a necessity to move up. It will also help me get to the more desirable locations.
