Just took shipment of a new RWS Model 46 in .177 cal. Promptly put on a scope and went after some chucks. At the end of day 2 I had shot approx. 40 chucks and 2 starlings. I havent had this much fun shooting any gun in a long time. If you are even considering an Adult air rifle I highly recommend getting one........too much fun.

Ok, let me get this right! You're telling us you shot 40 chucks, (as in woodchucks) in TWO days, with a .177 cal. pellet gun???????
OK??????????????????????????? I was born at night, but not last night. You wouldn't be a fisherman too, would you? Details please, I need a little entertainment. Pictures, show me pictures............of your 40+ chucks killed with .177.

Here's the scoop, They're called Rock Chucks around here and I have an "in" on a property located on the Snake River Canyon. This property is 370 acres in a semi-rural (not hunted with centerfire) setting. Actually it is on Evil Kinevel's Jump Site to be exact. Anyway yes, it is covered with dumb chucks........I sat in 1 spot between a couple of rock piles about 20yards apart and shot for over 1/2 hour just as fast as I could load and shoot. Honestly, 40 is conservative! Most are about 1/3 to 1/2 grown and weigh approx 2 lbs. Just right for a 20yard head shot with a .177 pellet gun. Not to rub it in......well ok to rub it in, I'm going again Saturday - with a fresh tin of pellets. I will try to keep an accurate count of kills and report on Monday.

As an added note: shooting 20-50 chucks a day with a .17hmr or centerfire in a good spot is not uncommon. The one's I shooting just happen to be a bit dumber than when they hear the boom of a centerfire and see thier buddy explode beside them.

Hope you have a blast. Air gunning is terrific fun. And cheap too.
