I like the camouflage, it works well in those surroundings.

I still love regular cab trucks.

They're like hammers. Simple and effective.

Plus they look better.

So, just to be clear, this is not a new truck, it's a 2011 model. I've been on the lookout for the last several months keeping an eye out for a decent used truck. I wanted a Chevy Work truck, as it was the bare bones model, as in vinyl floor mats, crank windows, manual locks, AM/FM, etc. Any option over and above the base was gravy. Short box models were really few and far between, I just didn't know if that's what I really wanted....

I had spied this truck on the innerweb, and after 3-4 weeks of it still being there, I called the dealer up ( just north of Chitcago, never again) and made a tentative trade on the horn.

So to highlight it, 2011 Work Truck, 31K, V-6, two wheel drive, locking differential, suspension package, which makes it sit up like a FWD (and ride like one), touch pad AM/FM/CD with GPS, power windows/locks, remote starter, trailer hitch, bed mat, and had a Husky tool box that I took out.

It was at a Dodge dealer that couldn't sell it, and I had a Caravan that I traded....win/win. Plus it still has 5K of factory bumper to bumper, and the 5/1K power train warranty.

I wouldn't drive a GM to a dog fight, or a Dodge for that matter.

Years of driving 1/2 ton work trucks brought me to that.

Now that's an ugly truck!

That's the suspension package with 245's in the holes.

I'd love to stick 285's on it but I don't wanna suffer the mileage loss....

That's why I originally called them, as it was advertised as a 2 wheel drive, but had the Z71 stickers.

I'm guessing the previous owner put them on, as the Z71 package is Bilsteen gas shocks, skid plates, and 265 tires.

I don't believe he was talking about aalf getting entitlement dollars but of the gov't saving GM.

In that sense, there were plenty of tax dollars used for any of their post-bailout products.

Ive been seeing a lot of 2wd chevy's with Z-71 stickers lately, I think they are coming from the factory that way now. I also believe that Chevy's are still the best gas pickups out there.

aalf,

I've driven Chevys since 1959 and have never had a moments problem with any of them.

Currently, I'm driving a 2010 CC/SB LTZ 4X4 Z-71 with every possible option and it may just be the finest truck I've ever owned.

Good luck with yours, not that you need it ... you now own a fine rig.
