Do some Remington Model 7 actions have an anti bind rail for the right side lug. I have seen actions that had a groove in the lug but there was no rail to fit into it.

My stainless model 7 has a groove in the bolt lug, but no anti-bind rail in action for it to fit in.

What calibers and age are the ones that have the rail?

Didn't get a reply to the last question so I'm bringing this back to the top.

Will confirm this weekend. One is at the gunsmith being rebarreled and can't remember on that one. If my memory is correct on the other two, the one without the groove or rail started life as a late 90s stainless 308. The one with groove and rail started as an early 2000s 300 saum

Fwiw the one being rebarelled is a cdl in 350 rem mag but I can't recall if it has the groove/rail or not

They don't have a rail in the receiver but later ones do have a slot in the lug simply because the same bolt head is used for the 700 and the Seven.

My XCR model 7 has the rail, but it is the only M7 I have had with the rail.

so, they finally put the rail in the receiver. Good to know.

I've had a couple Model Sevens with the slot in the lug but no rail.
