Nice posts gang. Guy had a Belgiam BAR at the range not long ago, seems like it had a 20" bbl, not positive. He was shooting crap ammo, so I don't think it showed guns potential. Heard mixed reports on BAR's.

Those Kimber's and M7s, as a 700 MR surely have light bbls given their wall thickness in .308 - guess they work for 3 shot groups, but most often only one needed in field so irrelevant if first shot POI is consistent.

This one has punched a couple of cow elk.

Not fun to carry, but loads of fun to shoot.

Im not a 308 guy because the 30-06 is mo better. Having said that I do like Remington Model 600's and 660's and they don't come in 30-06 but they do come in 308 so I had to have one of each. I had one back in the early 70's and it wondered off so I had to replace it. One is good two is better. May even put one in a decent stock, but I'll have to research it. Not to sure who makes them...looking forward to shooting something with them. But Africa comes first.
