All, Just finished a new Pat McManus book The Blight Way a Sheriff Bo Tully mystery. A bit of a divergence from classic McManus but if youve read his early short story humor stuff familiar enough characters and situations show up. Id give it a big two thumbs and hope he makes it a series.

Thanks for the heads up. I LOVE Patrick's writing. His writing and Norman Rockwell's art covers most of my "cultural bases," and I'm OK with that.....

My nephew left a collection of McManus books behind when he moved to another state. I picked one up, more out of boredom than curiousity, during an idle moment and started reading a passage somewhere in the middle of one of the the books- and was soon reduced to tears in a fit of hysterics.
I've since enjoyed many more idle moments (and hours) with Patrick and his backwoods poverty inspired humor.
Glad he's still writin'.

Just finished this book also. It took me a day of reading (I was home alone on a Saturday and got all my chores done early). Definitely not a tough read, but perfect for a weekend at the lake or on holidays. Even good for a flight. Enjoyed the book and I am looking forward to another...
