I found a bunch of 150 gr ALR at the LGS today. Looking at Nosler's website they suggest Hunter for velocity. I called them about Big Game and they didn't get near the velocity with BG compared to Hunter.
Anyone try either of these powders out of a 7mm-08? I'm looking to load some tonight and let them fly tomorrow. I have WLR and WLRM primers. Nosler used WLR but had a 26" tube. My T3 is 22 7/16 so I'll give up some velocity.
If the load data is anywhere near real world performance this bullet will really make the -08 sing!

45.5 gr. H4350 looks real good with 150gr. Partitions. But with those long ones your slinging I don't know. Hunter was horrible with the same partitions.

SAAMI spec is 2.800", touching the lands was 2.995". I loaded some long, with two other tester lengths at 2.835" and 2.800". Quite a jump for the two short loads. P

I've shot quite a bit of Big Game behind the 150 ABLRs and settled on 45 gr sparked by WLR in a Remington case. I seat them long (2.94") because my throat and mag allows it. In a 24" barrel I was just below 2700 fps.
I have also seating some at 2.81" and found that the ogive/bearing surface transition is below the case mouth (gap around the bullet at the mouth).

If you want to chase velocity with your 7-08 and bullets 140 or heavier, try rl17. I found accurate loads that were very fast with 140's through 168's. There were no pressure signs, and quickload seems to back up my findings. I'd have to go look at my notes, but I think I settled into the 2850ish range with the 150 lrab.

Most powders are in short supply, the a Reloder series chief among them.
I gotta use what I got.

I need to check my reloading notes again but I might have misspoken about the 150 ABLR velocities. My recollection as I sit here now is just below 2800 for the 150s and just below 2700 for the 168s; Big Game in both cases (I like the fill density when using heavies in the 7-08). I do have quite a bit of R17 in my stall and have had pretty good results in other rounds (including 162s in the 7-08). I'll need to give it a try with ABLRs in the 7-08. Thanks.

I'd be happy as heck with 2800 and accuracy.
