I don't want it, and do not have the scratch to buy it and try to make a few bucks on a flip, plus I am not sure the real value of such a piece.
The Estate manager of the gun collection from which I have been getting as steady stream of really exceptional Model 70's lately just hit me up with a gun that is way out of my area of expertise and interest. Model 547, 9mm, 3 inch bbl, round butt with a Leather Holster carrying the S&W Logo.
If some one wants the whole shooting match for $1200 + actual shipping, I will take cell phone pics and forward them, then put you in touch directly with the man in charge.
I thought I would put this here for my friends who collect Smith and Wesson VS classifieds.
PM me if interested. I have no dog in the fight, just passing on something that may be interesting to someone here.

Way too much...maybe the collectors are willing to pay that, but as cool as the 547 is; it's not THAT cool.

Kind of what I was thinking. But if General Stuart or another S&W collector really wants one, I know where they can get it.
Me, I don't even consider it cool. I totally do not get the purpose or benefit of a revolver in 9mm, that is big enough and strong enough to be a 357 or a plus P 38SPCL.
Probably why it did not catch on and so few were made?

They are well made guns, I would be interested but not at that price. They are regulated for 147 grain bullets and tend to shoot way too low with 115 grain bullets...

A nice one can bring that kind of money. I bought one for $700, sold it easily for $1050 and the buyer flipped it for a nice profit.

This one is, by all accounts, a nice one. And having a Smith and Wesson Emblazoned Holster for it that goes with surely cannot hurt. I have seen them go for $1400+ on Gunbroker since I started looking.
IF a cash offer is waived in front of him, who knows what he might take. I will put any interested party into direct contact with the owner, I do not want any part of being a middleman or trying to do a quick flip myself and cannot anyway as I have not the scratch to touch this one.

I'd love to have one, but that price is too rich for my blood. For its case size, the 9mm is a marvel and I shoot a lot of it.
