So I have an Interarms in action that I've had for about 30 years. I came across it by chance while cleaning out a warehouse way back then. Been thinking about about building a rifle around this action. It would be more for sentimental reasons I guess than any other but don't want to put money into something may not be worth it.
What are your guy's thoughts? I have a pre-threaded/chambered barrel from Midway that is nearly as old for the action along with an old Fajen unfinished stock.
Thanks,
twofish

I love them. I have three of them. Making a .375 Ruger, .30-'06, and .25-'06. Calling them the "Triplets". `

Why not? I have two. Have had a third but sold it to a friend.
Currently have:
A 8 lb 375 Taylor in a McMillan stock.
A 13 lb F class style in a Joel Russo stock. Even has a picatinny rail. To my knowledge Near Mfg is the only maker.
Stock trigger can be adjusted to a nice crisp pull.
Put that action to use.

I think I will go ahead and do it. You guys rifles look great.
Already having all the parts, even though I have no clue who made the blank for midway, it may turn out to be a performer.
At the least it will be another pony in the stable to play with.

They make better actions, so what. The MarkX will work great for a custom rifle. I used one of thier "Mini" actions for the nicest custom rifle I own. Here is one of thier "Whitworth" actions I used for a .375 H&H custom many moons ago. It's basicly a MarkX with a different name on the side.

Just wondering how one of these would work for a 358 win or other 'normally' short-action caliber?

Nice rifle TC1.
To the op, I've got a 6.5x57 built on a Mk10, they're a nice action, much nicer than the current Zastavas.
If I had the bits, I wouldn't hesitate.

Since all Interarms Mark Xs are long action LR Mausers, I prefer mine to be chambered for cartridges with 55mm to 62mm cases. That said, I have that rifle in 260 and it works fine.

I have owned and built several Mk-X's and the Whitworths. They are strong actions that lend themselves to make a fine custom rifle. Go ahead and SWING THE BAT!!!...ScottyO.
