No, not a "price check," though that seems to be what this forum is turning into
Nope, this is just a report on a very cool rifle I bought this week (imagine that, buying a rifle without "price checking" it ). A 1937 vintage Winchester M52 22lr, complete with the original Winchester 82A rear sight. The sight is click adjustable for both windage and elevation, and it was dead on for elevation at 50 yards with CCI Blazer ammunition. The trigger is crisp and bolt travel/ejection was smooth and positive. Light years ahead of the CZ 452's I've owned and certainly on par with my mid-70s vintage Anschutz M54's.
This rifle was a joy at the range: well balanced with the 28" medium heavy barrel and the blade front sight stood out well through the target aperture of the rear sight. This is going to be my iron sight silhouette gun for our local competitions so instead of poking holes in paper I decided to ring some steel. Went five for five off hand on half-size pigs at 50 yards. I was grinning from ear to ear
A classic rifle. I can't imagine what that would cost to make today.
