I finally accepted the fact that I really don't need four fly rods hanging around and decided I would sell the two I don't use. Hopped on fleabay and about fell over! I thought I would sell a Fenwick FF70 and an FF80, along with a couple English made Battenkill reels.

Are these things really worth the kind of money people are listing them for?
Might have to rethink things a little...

Prices are High!

I've been considering selling a couple of my Sage XLT's and a couple of my Ross Reels that I never use. I really don't need 6 fly rods!

I hate to dash your hopes, but if you're looking at the guy who's selling "Glowstick" Fenwicks on eBay, then also know that he sells very few, if any, rods.

I picked up an FF80 two years ago almost to the day for $64.57, delivered. I don't think real world prices have moved up more than 20% since then. The FF70 should be worth a little more. An FF79, even more so. But $150 would be darn near top dollar for an as new FF79 rod. An FF80-3, which is super unique with a lot of collector value only sold for $152.50, with 19 different bids. That was within the past week.

As a counterpoint, just today I won a Scientific Anglers System 6 glass rod for $64+10 shipping. It's the equal if not the better, to anything Fenwick put out during the same time period.

But all those prices are a lot higher than they were, say 3-4 years ago. So there is an up side.

Stay away from my wife. I have at least a dozen and am thinking of picking up a couple more.
