Has there been any more news on this cartridge?

Thinking I would like to neck it up to 9.3 calibre for some fun.

It is totally STUPID and will end on on the same trash heaps as 6.5 remmeg, 350 remmag, 270/7/300 SAUM, 270/7 WSM, 30 TC, 357 SIG, 25/30/32 Remington,
current 30 Remington, 25-20 single shot and 100s more.

A 6.5x55 will kill anything you would take on with a 6.5, in the hands of an ethical hunter.

The 26 Nosler will shoot flatter (due to higher velocity) and this will encourage the ethically-challenged hunter(?) to take longer shots for which he is not prepared. I think this cartridge is a solution just looking for a problem.

This might be a good combination for fun but, why not just go for the 9.3X63mm?

Outside of Nosler Rifles there are no other rifles being chambered for the 26 Nosler. Rifle available and sales make cartridges popular. Like the 17WSM going down the drain and suckin air.

I doubt is Nosler is trying to solve any "problem". I think they are trying to make a profit. And I bet they don't expect the 26N to be the next 30/06 or 270.

But it will probably appeal to a few loonies who will buy the very nice but expensive Nosler rifle and the very accurate but expensive Nosler ammo.

Small volume, high markup still makes money.

Ha! They're not exactly a household name yet and definitely not a mass producer.

i find it funny guys go to a forum that is all about rifles, scopes, deer, elk.....etc. and get all wound up about a new catridge some one comes out with. 15 years ago non of us had cell phones, GPS in the car etc. You can make a case that we really dont need all that stuff either. I for one appalud all the new items and ideas. i find a cell phone handy, and I can see my self wanting a Nosler 26. Enjoy life guys.....!

Nosler and Montana chamberings for the 26 Nosler. When is the last time you see one in your LGS? How many loonies can afford a $3500 rifle? Until Remington, Winchester, Savage, and Ruger chamber rifles it ain't gonna happen. It will be as popular as the 300 SAUM!!

New cartridges that add a hundred feet a second are hardly the technological leap of cell phones and GPS.

There hasn't been any need for another big game cartridge since 1892. Wish they'd quit pestering us with such BS since I, for one, am damned tired of buying new rifles, dies, brass and bullets.
