My dad is at the point its very painful to step over his atv from 2 shot knees. My mom wants to buy him a step thru atv. She really doesn't want a bigger side x side for him. I told her I didn't think they made step thru quads anymore but I would check. This is just for tinkering around the farm. I came here for the wealth of knowledge that is on here. Thanks for any help\advice.

I've never heard of any "step-thru" ATV's

Bombardier used to make step through quads, but I don't know if they still do. Polaris is supposed to be coming out with a single wide Razor this year. That might be your best bet.

John Deere made Step-Through. I can't find much on them anymore. I guess it never really caught on.

The Polaris ACE is the love-child of an ATV and a UTV. It might be a viable option for your dad.

This, just got one. When my dear wife absolutely refused to ride with me on my Kawasaki Prairie anymore, doubles that way are not comfortable no matter what you do, I bought a mule.

They are slow compared to what I am used to, not as powerful, but a heck of a lot more comfortable. You will get there unless where you are going is really tight but it will take you longer.

Due to Texas law I have mine fixed up so I can operate it on any public road except Interstate highways as long as it is daylight and I am less than 25 miles from home.

I checked out the mule 610 last night at a dealer. I think this will be the best option for him to get in and out. They had one ace in and I really liked that but the only draw back is bringing the foot in. You really got do a twist at the knee\ankle area to get your feet through the opening. My wife really liked the ace and it would be a nice safe option with the cage.

As has been said the Bombardier Traxter is the only ones I'm aware of. We have two and they have been great for over 12 years. We bought them for just the reason that mentioned, but more focused on not having to drag muddy boots over the seat to get on and off.
