I have ordered a barrel to make a 270 Bee what powders have been working well for you? Currently I only have Retumbo to try and a small amount of Magnum. I have some 140 gr Accubonds, 150 gr ABLR, 150 gr Hornady Spire Point and 160 gr Partition to try. It will be a while till I get the barrel and get the gun up and running but I want to get some proven powders and loads in the mean time.

When I had a 270 Bee I used Rl22, but today would be inclined to grab RL25.
This is based on how well it has been working for me in the 7mm mags....not much difference really.

With the 140's try RL-25. The 160's IMR-7828. Never tried the 150's in the my .270 Wby.

IMR 7828 works well for me.

Best groups out of my model 70 rl22 with 140gr accubonds.
Then STFU. The rest of your statement is superflous bullshit with no real bearing on this discussion other than to massage your own ego. Suckin' on my titties like you wanted me.

I haven't experimented much, but so far have tried RL22 and 7828 and am getting great accuracy from RL22. Chrono hasn't been working so not sure of velocity.

7828- very accurate, fast, and consistent for me. RL 22 was accurate but not as fast. as was RL25.

There certainly are some powders being mentioned quite a bit. I forgot I still have 2 lbs of the old Hercules RL 22 so will give it a try. I'll keep an eye out for some IMR 7828 ssc and RL 25. Alliant powers are pretty hard to come by these days.
Thanks for the info guys.

This is based on how well it has been working for me in the 7mm mags....not much difference really. I am with Bob on this one Gerry, 7828, RL22 and RL25 should work really well. Since I started working with RL25 it has trumped 22 in my 7's and I imagine it would only be better yet in the 270WBY. Retumbo would be another good one too I bet. Not sure what powders you can get your hands on, but I'd gladly run the numbers for you.

For me, when using 130's, 7828ssc has by far provided the best combo of accuracy and speed...3400-3500 fps. In addition, I have found it to be consistent from lot to lot. RL-22 provided speed, but not accuracy.
For 140's, RL-25 was the winner.

I was able to get some IMR 7828 ssc today so between it, RL 22 and Retumbo I'm pretty sure some good loads will be found. I'm going with a Benchmark stainless 1 in 9 twist the same contour and length as the factory Sako guns, length will be 62 cm which is 24 3/8". The action is my good old LH Sako L691, should be a great gun when all is said and done.

I could match factory specs in all bullet weighs using IMR 4831. Obviously several other powders around this, to a little slower would also work well.

I just got my 270WBY together with a 25" Bartlein. Only two range sessions and just today with Chrono. I only want to use 150's. RE22 is accurate but 69.5grs with a 150BT is only 3050. Factory 150 Spire Points go 3130-3140. I'm going to bump it to 70grs and also try about 72grs of 7828. The one load of 7828 I tried first time out was least accurate but still was 3/4'ish. R22 will drive tacks.
If I can get 3100 with a 150 at 1/2-3/4" in a 7.5lb scoped 270WBY I'm in heaven...
I may try RL25 although I have tried it in several rifles without any success, yet. (WBY's and 7mags).

Good luck Dave, let us know how it all works out. The lightest I want to use is the 140 gr Accubond, there is a lot to be said for going with a 150 gr or heavier like you are doing.
