I have spots open for this years Black Bear season. Season starts August 16-31 which is a great time to get out of the heat and enjoy the cool mountains of New Mexico. We also have a fall season that starts Sept. 23- Nov. 15. We have a full service bear camp equipped with everything needed to make your hunt comfortable and successful. The hunting will be done behind our pack of well trained hounds. Mules and horses will be available for hunting wilderness areas. Most of our hunts will be conducted in the Ruidoso,NM area. If quotas are filled in that area we will hunt in the Pecos, Grants, or Gila areas. We have hunted all of these areas in the past and have had good luck in all of them. Myself and my guides are expert houndsman and have tons of experience hunting Bear and Mountain Lion in the mountains of New Mexico.

5-day bear hunts include meals, lodging, full guide services, and trophy preparation. Transportation to and from the hunt not included. Limit of 2 hunters per 5 day hunt.

Hunt cost $2500.

Non-resident Black Bear License is $260,
Game Hunting License $65
Habitat Stamp $5
Habitat Management& Access validation $4

What are your success rates?

About 70%-80% kill, with 95% of our clients seeing treed Bears.

Seems like a real reasonable place to start researching if you were interested in a guided hunt. Nice looking bears there. You guys work hard for your $2500!

pretty bears , hound hunting is about as much fun as anyone can stand.

@EricM, We'd love to have you. Average shot is 20yards. It makes for a great bow hunt or pistol hunt. If you pm me your email I will send you our "What To Expect" letter. We get lots of color phase bears. Really straight blacks are the rare ones around here. We get a lot of chocolate and quite a few blonde chocolates like the one in the pic.

My son hunted with Joe last year. Here is his bear.



He also was able to add a "meat hunt" on a cow elk.



I had two freezers full of bear and elk I'm still eating on.

I don't know how ya'll gauge success on a hunt. If I get to hang with some good guys, hunt for several days and see some new and beautiful country, like the guides, eat good food, I consider that a worthy investment, whether I take an animal or not.
