Cleaning the gun room and came across one. It is new, round with chief's head in pewter. From the detail on the reverse side it is made in USA and for Savage itself. Very well made. I am going to sell it and wonder about value, if any, scarcity and when they were made? Thanks, Dave

I think everyone knows what the front looks like so I added a photo of the reverse. I have had this for at least fifteen years.

The average sale price for the last ten sold on ebay was 28.14 without shipping costs figured in. Low starting price auctions didnt do as well, they ended in the 8-13 dollar range. the ones that sold for more had higher, BIN prices.

I dont know how old they are but new ones can be had from the savage store for 9.00 https://store.savagearms.com/gear/logo-belt-buckle.html

Weren't they typical 70's kitschy things? Seems every guy had some sort of 'significant' icon adorning their belt buckles back then. I alternated between a peace symbol buckle and an original "U.S." buckle from the Civil War, worn upside down to show Southern sympathy as Confederates did when supplementing uniform pieces off of dead Yankees.

I think there are about three different markings on the back depending on when it was made and what the company name was at the time.

Oh well. I thought I might get a bit more info about it and value. I am looking for a butt plate for a Savage Model B shotgun so will post it for trade on the for sale forum to see if I can find a butt plate. Thanks to those who responded. Dave
