When your ship comes in. ... make sure you are willing to unload it.

PAYPAL, sucks and I will never use them again. I recommend you do the same.

There's slings, dies, shellholder's, brass (maybe), powder, primer's, etc.....all that good stuff to keep you occupied. Maybe you've got the scope, if not, lots of choice's nowadays.

I know you probably have all that stuff already. I understand the waiting part, but not for a custom.... yet. Took receipt on my Kimber Ultra Carry II a few months ago and the 7 days to get it here just about killed me. I got the holster before the Kimber arrived!

Can't offer a cure, there isn't one. The day you're not excited like you are.....you're dead.

Everyone is different. I guess I've rebarrled so many I dont' really get excited unless I decide to do somethign dumb and get a new deer gun right before a hunt. Then hurry it to get here and zero it before the weekend.

The one I did get excited about just a bit was my 50 though. I really wasnt' in a hurry but it did show up quick. The part that got me was trying to get some 50 cal ammo before my nephews bday. I'd had the gun for 2 weeks and all of a sudden decided it would be a good day to break it in and play with it.

Only problem with it is you can barely afford the rifle, and I damn sure can't afford a new press, dies, powder, primers, bullets etc..... so remanuf. ball is it for the time being...

Good luck on the wait!

PS be careful sometimes buying things early, I tend to make mistakes when I get in a hurry. I'd rather have it here, look at it and think about it, then decide what to do about the rings, scope etc.... again, thats if its not the middle of testing(deer) season.

The holster for my Kimber was a custom job. Since it couldn't be viewed here due to being from a different state, I had to be as sure as possible of it's form and fit prior to purchasing it. The leatherman assured me it would fit like a glove, so I had to trust what he said. I was not the least bit dissappointed when it arrived. When the Kimber then arrived, it did fit the holster perfectly. Perhaps lucky, but I'll take that anytime I can get it.

Not all stories have ended that well when I've rushed a purchase. But most have and it's a tough habit/urge to break.

If I were young, the % of misinformed impulse buying would probably be much higher. Being older, the urge's are obviously still at work, but I know pretty much what I want or need before I close any deal.

No matter how old and informed I am however, I will still undoubtedly continue to commit a few "purchase errors" due to my enthusiasm.

Such is life.

Blammer, I think I found the perfect scope for "our" new AR... I'm sure Rick can get you a good price on it... why not just go ahead and place the order now... BTW <and seriously>, are the Illuminated Reticles worthwhile? IIRC Leupold had some problems with these early on...

Hmm, I think I have met my match in the frugal department... BTW, I started the 6.5 WSSM thread in hopes that you would sell of your .25 WSSM cheap. I mean, it would be better for bear and wild boar...
