Anyone on here replace their stock with one from Boyds? I have been wanting to, but their website shows a different screw spacing than I am measuring on my T3 lite. As near as I can measure mine is 7 inches and they list 7 5/32". I called them and the lady said that their stock does not fit a T3 lite only a T3. I was under the assumption that Tikka only has one action lenght (therefore one screw spacing). I was wanting to get one with a custom length of pull. And since it is a custom stock it can't be sent back, even if it doesn't fit.

So my hope is that someone who has one of the new tikka stocks from Boyds would please measure the action screw spacing and reply with their findings.

Also how do you like your Boyds stock? Did it drop in or was there a lot of fitting needed?

Manners stocks makes several T3 Tikka options as do the guys at

Left or right hand stocks are available. I have a Manners stock on order but several of the options at tikkaperformance are available now.

I have 3 Tikka T3's in the safe, 1 is a 6.5x55 in a Hunter Deluxe Wood Stock, 2 is 6.5x55 Stainless T3 Lite in the factory synthetic stock , 3 is a .222 Stainless in a B&C Stock. All are sporter contour barrels and all stocks interchange.
Center of Screw to Screw is 7 5/32". I had to remove the trigger, mag housing to obtain this measurment with a steel ruler, otherwise I too was obtaining a 7" measurement using a tape measure.

A friend has a Boyds Classic on his T3 it was drop in not fitting required.

I have had Boyd Laminates and Walnuts Stocks on Rem 700, Weatherby Vanguards and Ruger 77, some have required a slight amount of fitting.

I tried every way I could think of, on the action, the top and bottom of the stock, and the bottom "metal" (trigger guard), but I could not get a 7 5/32" measurment anywhere.

I may have to just have faith that it will fit and order one.

RLFarmer - be glad you don't own a Savage centerfire. They not only have at least two (2) different stock screw spacings but some models have stagger feed vs.inline magazines, round or flat rear receiver areas, different bolt release locations etc. due to product "improvements"...just the nature of the beast I guess. Homesteader.

I had a Boyds Classic on my model 700. Nice stock, dropped in but a VERY heavy stock. I didn't like the way it balanced with the Boyds

Farmer I also have a Tikka and have wondered the same thing, mine to measures 7 inches no matter what you do. I would like to put a thumbhole stock on mine from boyds. Just wondering if you ever bit the bullet and got one or not?

Don't think Tikka makes but one action length for the T3..
