Riley took a photo and racked up some fair prizes with it in the recent competition. A couple folks have asked me to post it, so here it is. Title is "Look Into My Eyes"...

If you hit the quote button you will see it a bit bigger and better.

I guess I should have mentioned he won a prize from Mossy's Fly Shop for the best "gear" related photo. It was picked by the judge as best in its category, and it won the People's Choice award...

A Vortex Tripod, a gift certificate, and a Scott A3 rod and Galvan Rush reel...

Nice photo and prize! I like the choice of the Kirby taper eyeless hooks too, classy. Now if we can get rid of the ice and snow he can go work over some bows and salmon. Those galvan reels are top notch with great drags.

If you can imagine this... he whined as a kid that the Hardys I "forced" him to use were too loud... Now he uses some Hardys, 2 Galvans, at least several Lamsons, and at least one Ross from when they made an almost decent reel...

Yeah, he is spoiled... wink

I wondered about that.
So, even if none were primo for their intended use, value received worked out just dandy.

Two questions from a salmon fly ignoramus:
From what birdie are the rusty feathers with the single white/black eyes?
What's the hemp cord about?

There is nothing wrong with them for their intended purpose... Some are not as perfectly matched as they could be, but they are still more than adequate for presentation flies.

Those would be tragopan...

The cord is actually silk gut used to make eyes for blind-eye hooks. It is very hard to get and very expensive when you do find it. I usually sub sanded mono, furled.

Don't take this the wrong way, but your gut is much bigger than I'd have expected.

Great pic by Riley. But inquiring minds wonder just how did you and MissT fare?

Changes coming... Facebook has become the "In" thing and it should show up there very soon.

Of course I have NO IDEA what "Facebook" means...

I'd have been inclined to go with the "eyes have it". Some valuable feathers there that aren't the typical road kill fare.

I have done my part, but the website is getting a total revamp and little is being added until that is complete. I understand most have been posted on Facebook.
