Does anyone know of a company who makes a hammer extension for a TC Impact? It is really difficult to cock the hammer with a scope mounted.

I'm with you, I just bought an Impact also. That little nub of a hammer is tucked down in there pretty far and when a scope is mounted it gets considerably harder to find it.

I called TC this morning and they told me they do not offer an extension nor will they install their "swing hammer" on the rifle. Their suggestion was to use higher rings, which is not the best solution.

Thanks for calling them. I agree, higher rings aren't an ideal solution.

I thought of that but the hammer on the two are considerably different, the Impact hammer is a narrow short little rounded stub. The Marlin hammer is much wider and flat. Without looking at it in hand it wouldn't seem to come close to fitting. I also wonder how far into the receiver the Impact's hammer goes upon actual firing. It doesn't stick out much to begin with and if upon striking the firing pin it follows a short distance inside the receiver a hammer extension might strike the outside of the receiver. That would block the hammer strike. The whole thing isn't a deal breaker sort of issue but it would be nice if T/C worked that out a bit better. I also wish the barrel detached from the receiver like a single shot break action shotgun. That would simplify cleaning.
