Having just gotten a M70 7x57 I remembered I ran across some old unopened box of Nosler 140 gr Partition bullets and decided to load some of them. About 49 gr of 4350 should be a good start. Id say those would handle most of what I'd ever be shooting.

Excellent Bullets. Wish I had some more of the old solid base.

Waiting for 5lbs of RL15 to arrive so I can load 140 Partitions in the 7-08. Looking forward to see what velocity/accuracy this combo can produce.

The old partitions didn't have a solid base. The lead core was exposed at the bottom of the bullet. The new ones, however does have the solid base. This is the old one on the left and new one on the right.

Old boxes on the right.

Partitions still have exposed lead at the base.

They aren't flat based anymore though. And the newer style seems to be a little more consistent on weight.

Well, I'll be dipped! I stand corrected. I could have sworn the new style was different...made myself a liar. smile I guess I was thinking about how they no longer had the "waist", as I call it, but rather is now solid in the middle.

I hunted that load with both the old and new 140 gr. Partitions for almost 30 yrs. in my old 7X57 Ruger. Never gave me anything less than 100% satisfaction. E

I loaded those old turned Nosler 140 Partitions back in the 60's for my Ruger #1A.

I was 'posted' in the woods near the camp and while admiring the new to me IA 7mm RM I opened the action to admire the Nosler bullet and my handload.

Just then a buck stepped out of the woods in view and close shocked .

I got the rifle loaded again and shot him in the neck. cool

Rubber, None of the partitions are flat (level) based. All I have ever seen are somewhat cupped as the rear core sets below the level of the jacket. The one in my hand is a old 30 cal. 300 mag. 200 gr. w/the core approx 11 thou. inset. I know, I know I'll quit-Muddy
