On the way home from work... Rib craving took hold. Small country grocery store stop 2:48, 2 smallish racks baby backs, 1 jug apple cider, one can hornet/wasp spray (separate task) Home at 3:08, charcoal lit by 3:15, membranes peeled by 3:18, light dry rub by 3:25 Meat over charcoal 3:30 PM Shooting for 5 hours. Hopefully eating by 8:30-ish. Restful food coma to follow. Currently digging for rib supplements.... Taters? Beans? Beer? What ever, I'm in it for the meat.

I'm pushing it along with a 5 hour goal, but I think it will work well enough. Meat's warming up, be sweating a bit.

Are you celebrating your slab being finished? Looks like a good way to enjoy an evening, especially with a cold beer

I truly wish I was celebrating that slab, friend. Actually, I'm just doing this to take my mind off the whole shop project for an evening. I need a little pick me up, a little fun time. Relaxation and such. We'll get past this concrete hiccup, Gotta stay positive, right? Well I decided to start basting with straight apple cider. I may give a light sprinkle with more of this here product I found within my very limited seasonings selection. Actually, the stuff tastes exactly like bbq potato chips... not sure if that's good or bad? lol

I figured more than likely you needed something to take your mind off the delays rather than a celebration, but you gotta keep that positive attitude. I can relate, we're in the waiting phases of having a house built. Ideally they would have started work a month ago, if not two, but of course delays on both the builders part and our part have got us to this point. We did finally receive our building permit last week, but as of noon today no sign of work on the dirt. They did say they planned to get their excavation equipment up there at the end of this week, so hopefully ground breaking to follow... At least the delays aren't delaying a business. All said and done, it'll be a great spot to crack a brew and enjoy the view, when it's done! The snowman dug it this winter

That man looks froze solid! 2 hrs in... Heat is fading a bit, had to slide the side loader open and add some fire nuggets.

Ribs are looking good! It was our anniversary, celebrated with a picnic and had frosty hold onto the bottle. Even though late February is typically brass ballz cold, this past winter was extremely mild. Frosty the following day:

MSG .....The FDA also received numerous reports of MSG-related adverse events, including headaches, palpitations, vomiting, and nausea. While these voluntary reports were useful for drawing attention to potential problems, they were >>>>>> unconfirmed by controlled testing..... Although it has no distinct taste itself, MSG stimulates our taste buds and makes a variety of foods taste better. The flavor enhancer is commonly added to cuisine.... Made by a fermentation process using starch, beet sugar, cane sugar, or molasses........... = YUM !!
