I'd love to have one!

Do you think it could be finished with Bog Oak scales and maybe copper hardware? Let me know. Look forward to hearing back!

..... also have some dried blocks of Pecan and Hickory I cut off my farm couple years back that I could send you. Maybe you could use them for the scales? That would be kinda cool since it's wood cut from my place! If not, no biggie.

Tim~

Here are pics of the wood blocks I cut off my farm. They are definitely dry ... been sitting around for a couple years now. Some slight cracking in some of them from the natural drying process; not sure how much that effects you. Tried cutting these from the crotch of the trees in order to get more variations in the wood. Tell me what you think.

Here's the basic dimensions of them. They all vary some though.

Hey guys, I have one of the clip point knives Tim made last year. These things are a serious tool for sure.
Hard to call them knives, more like a short sword!
So far mine has built a duck blind, cleared some brush as I hauled my mulie out last Fall and split some kindling.
Rides very well in my day pack.

Tim, any spots still open here? Time frame?

If so, I will toss my name in for one. Would like to send you the wood as before if possible.

Kirk

Edit: sending pm

this is a serious camp blade. It will chop through anything, and in quick order. Split this log like it was balsa wood.

Looking forward to giving mine a good workout this Fall. Spending 2 weeks in Oct in the Rockies chasing Elk.
The Camp Knives paired with my GB Hunters axe, I don't see there being anything that can't dealt with!

Room for two more if anyone interested. Otherwise they will be table stock.
Hope to be completed around late Sept.(this year).

I have received the wood (see above pics) from RickyBobby.
Will have to whittle down a couple into scale size chunks and see how the figure, checks, knots, etc pan out. Hoping for a real nice special set of scales to jump out.

Thanks Tim! I hope you can find something unique outta that wood ... been saving it for a project like this for some time now. I completely trust your judgement and can't wait to see what you come up with!

our own 757, Doug, made my sheath. It is as bullet proof as the chopper.

Thanks for the post Sam.
Doug will be doing this next batch of sheaths also.
These probably will have the sewn edge all the way around the blade vs the folded over style shown by Sam--or as requested if customer specifies something.

For a real bullet proof sheath, I have some heavy suede finish leather that has been treated and water just runs off without discoloring it. Material was originally for wood workers protective shop aprons.

Tim, a fully sewn sheath sounds good to me! Any tooling on them? Just curious.

Yeah, I will have Doug put some tooling around the sew line path.
Looks like Sam got one without any tooling.

Tim, that is just what I wanted. The style, and unadorned were perfect, and Doug did a wonderful job.

Ready to do clean up grinding now.
Then start cutting out scales, drilling for assembly, etc.
Damned and small game opens up tomorrow, and my part time job is pushing for more of my time.
Trying hard to be ready by end of this month.

Is that my handle material 3rd down from top? If so, was it a Hickory or Pecan? Looks like Hickory but kinda hard to tell in pic. Just curious.

I stabilized a piece of hickory and a piece of pecan.
That is the pecan. I thought it looked best.
I will send the hickory with the knife, so if or whenever......
I will keep the leftovers unless you want them sent back.

All sounds good to me!

.... I actually was hoping for the Pecan but didn't want to say anything. I didn't want it to sway your decision. That particular Pecan tree blew over on my place the eve of my grandpa's funeral; when a strong storm passed through. I saved those pieces of Pecan when cutting that tree up and will always remember where it come from .... especially since I bought the farm from my grandpa. Means the world to me! Those will be very special scales on that knife! Amazing how stuff works out sometimes.

Life is good.
I thought the copper hardware you requested would look really cool with that set of scales.
