I have decided to scale back/abandon some rifle building projects and focus my efforts and funds on doing the best I can on just a few. So some parts I have been squirreling away need to head down the road.
This is an unused in-the-white bottom metal for a Winchester pre-64 Model 70.
Any variations you see in the surface are from the anti-rust coating, and not in the metal itself.
Ted sold the manufacturing rights to his bottom metal to Swift Bullets maybe 15 years ago. This one pre-dates that sale, and since I just bought a bottom metal from Swift a few months ago, I can assure you that this one is far better finished that the current production.
It has the classic Blackburn triggerbow shape (sorry for the poor focus)
The triggerbow also has a very nice taper, front to back.
And very nice shaping at the base of the trigger bow near the rear screw hole.
$315 plus shipping, and I believe current price on these from Swift(arguably lesser quality) is $360 plus shipping.
