Well I don't know any Jews or any Muslims, so I really can't say I know much about either one. However, a week or so ago a guy stopped in selling home alarm systems. I live out in the country and there been quite a few break ins recently, so I was interested. Anyhow, turns out this guy was an Israeli, who moved here about 5 years ago. While we were talking I asked his opinion about what was going on over there. It as rather interesting to hear his take on it. He actually had a surprising amount of sympathy for the Palestinians, at least the non-Hamas ones. He said the level of poverty is really quite shocking, but its due to their own government doing it to them. Having been in the military, he said he himself had been in schools and found rockets and weapons cache's. According to him, the majority of people on both sides just want peace and to be left alone, but with Hamas in control thats not going to happen. It certainly didn't seem like he had any animosity towards the Palestinian people though. Granted, this is a sample of one, and nothing but his word to go on, but I found it interesting.
The people of a country and the government of/over a country are not the same. People in Israel probably feel the same way as Americans do about their government.
