He fellas. I bought my first scope ever. No, I'm not 12 but I have always used regular rifle sights or a peep. The scope is a nikon prostaff rimfire 3x9. I don't have rings yet and I saw a set on midway that didn't have a base. The rings bolted directly to the receiver but I don't know if I need low or medium. Any body running these type scope rings with this scope?

Who makes the rings you saw on the Midway website? A pair of Weaver #16 bases will work fine with with a set of Weaver style rings on your Savage Model 93. I'd recommend medium height rings.

I use the Weaver bases and a set of Weaver Quad Lok rings that cost $11 at Walmart.

I've got Leupold steel rings on my 93. I tried some cheaper aluminum rings first and they wouldn't hold zero. The steel rings hold zero for me.
