A Bud bought one and a 3.5-10 leupold on my rec two years ago, I outfitted it with a set of Talley 'lapped' lows and mounted the 3.5-10x40 matte Leupold and worked him up a load featuring the 225 gr TTSX's and H-4350.

He can keep her under an inch from the bench and has killed the hell outta everything from Alaskan Bear, moose and western US elk, as well as deer and pigs around the house, all with the same load.

Last report he couldnt be happier. smile

I have tried hard to like the EWs, but find the forearm uncomfortably thick. It seems as though they made it overly chunky for no apparent reason.

IF the lines on the EW fit you well and you like it...it can't be beat.

After looking for a year, I found a used, but like new 300 win here at the fire. Waiting for my new scope to arrive, but with a 10 dollar bushnell, she prints about an inch at 200 yards with factory ammo. Recoil is minimal.

I have one and it's awesome, my favorite "go-to" big game rifle since buying it in 2012. I've taken 2 black bear, 3 elk, several hogs, whitetail, fallow and axis deer with it. It's a killer, shoots tight groups (likes 250g Nosler Partitions) and is a very reliable hunting rifle. It's seen ALOT of crappy weather as well and has held up great.

Oh, and she's a puzzy cat, recoil is more of a shove than a sharp crack. my son's .300 Win Mag Rem 700 Alaskan Ti is much worse, and they both weigh exactly the same.

The EW I put together for my friend felt fine, but, I'm kinda used to hanging on to 8-Bore and 577 Nitro barrels. lol
