In the first picture, does the press have a broken cracked spot in the top left corner?

No. That's just shine. No cracks, breaks, rust. Just a little everyday wear. Paint isn't even chipped anywhere that I know of.

FYI- for correctness you might want to verify the actual model of your press. Your picture differs in several respects from the cast iron press which Lee sells by the name "Classic Cast"; your's appears to be an aluminum alloy model (which is also cast but does not use the nomenclature Classic Cast)
