Her name is Peach and she's 12 years old. I've known her since she was eight weeks old. My Dog and her have grown up together and I have done countless Dog sittings over the years when the owners are gone. There have been some great poems and Dog stories for when they pass. I have rainbow bridge...but there is another one that really touched my heart strings. Something about when they pass not to grieve and for you to get another Dog to replace them. Anyone know what I am talking about? She looks like a really cool dog. I feel for you and your buddy. They just ain't built to last. My hound Dixie was 16yrs.

p.s. I buried my first on the ridge that he got his first grouse. My buddy had to drive me there and back. It's a tough duty.

I'm so sorry to hear of you and your bud's great loss! She looks like a sweetheart. Prayers going up for him, you, and your dog. Your dog will be grieving as well and may need some extra attention and love. They leave us too soon.

Their lives are so short because they love so hard! I hope that's a lie...the little JRT in my avatar is always by my side or in my lap. Unless he's after something. I've had a lot of dogs, but he is by far the most loving...others would disagree though, because he is very protective of his territory & has been referred to as a little hellion.

Tell your friend I am so sorry, I've got two (twin-sisters) I purchased from CAS right here on the campfire nearly 8 years ago... and couldn't ask for two more loving and playful dogs... they quickly became family members instead of pets, and I continually dread the day when I might loose one of them, as another said they love so hard!

I feel for you bud, I honestly do. I lost my yellow lab Kane almost 2 years ago and it still hurts to this day. He was the best dog I've ever had. I keep his camo name tag on my key chain so I will never forget him.
Enjoy the time you've got left okok and remember the good times.

We waited about 6 months before we got another one, our husky Max needed a companion and we could tell he missed Kane.
We got a rescue husky/lab mix named Maia, she's still a pup and is very playful, Max loves her as do we.
Every dog we've had has a special place in our hearts but Kane holds a special place in mine.
My condolences to your friend, I know it isn't easy but time will help heal his sadness.

Had to put Rocky, our 11 year old Yellow Lab, to sleep last Thur. He had been having trouble with his hind quarters and Wed. evening they just gave out on him and he could not get up. Our vet came to the farm to help us and we spent a couple hours just holding him while we waited for the vet. We have 3 others to ease the heartache but Rocky was special. His purpose in life seemed to be to please us. He rests under the cedar tree by the pasture where he liked to lay in the shade.
