Mark Levin: "Why would Perry hire this conservative-attacker and Palin-hater?"
http://www.breitbart.com
by Tony Lee 26 Aug 2014

Texas Governor Rick Perry has reportedly aligned himself with two of the most infamous Republican establishment operatives known for trashing conservatives.

Perry is working with Henry Barbour, whom conservatives want the Republican National Committee to censure for his group's smearing of conservatives in the Mississippi Senate runoff, and Steve Schmidt, who has elevated his profile by maligning conservatives, especially former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin.

Politico's Maggie Haberman reported on Tuesday that Schmidt, the infamous hack from Sen. John McCain's 2008 presidential campaign whose gamble to go "all-in" and suspend the campaign during the financial crisis turned up snake eyes, "has joined the team" helping Perry "with the strategy around his indictment." After McCain's poll numbers plummeted after Schmidt's reckless gamble, Schmidt attempted to re-write history and try to smear former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin to the mainstream press and blame the 2008 loss on her.

Though that gambit did not work, Schmidt did endear himself to the permanent political class and media, and he soon joined the likes of Meghan McCain in gleefully bashing conservatives on mainstream and even liberal outlets like MSNBC.
[]
As Perry seriously considers a presidential run after his 2012 attempt failed due to campaign and debate mishaps, crony capitalism concerns, and his infamous statement in Florida in which he said conservatives opposed to in-state tuition for illegal immigrants did not have "a heart," the Associated Press recently reported that Perry, "with the help of veteran Republican operative Henry Barbour," has "begun hiring staff in key states to help prepare for a possible run."
[]
Perry should be aware of scorpionslike Messrs. Barbour and Schmidt, especially if he has dirty laundry. And even if he doesnt, he should be no less worried, because those like Schmidt have proven that theymay just make things upif things sour.

Rick needs the Establishment's money and the common man's vote. A really tough row to hoe.

...Indeed.
It doesnt make sense for Perry to pal around with establishment thugs whose claims to fame lately have been trashing conservatives who are popular with the grassroots andusing liberal tactics to do it. Texans love Governor Palin, especially Texas Republicans just as Mississippi Republicans loved (and voted for) Chris McDaniel.

Governor Palin recently came to Governor Perrys defense over this indictment and she also endorsed his run for re-election in 2010.

In her defense of Perry recently though she did say (with her usual prescience):
Rick wont have to worry about the Republican establishment piling on, either. Hes more ingratiated with the political machine than someone considered still an unknown whod go rogue on GOP kingmakers when they acted unethically, so hes fortunate to only face a firing squad from one side.

You asked a question and I answered. I have no idea of what you just posted.

Allow me to clarify. Perry has decided he needs the Establishment more than he needs the grass roots.
He has seen the millions being spent in this campaign to save the Good Old Boys.
As Palin points out, he does not want to incur their wrath.

Penny wise and pound foolish. Perry's problem is that the GOPe does not want him. He ain't the first in line.

Could be worse. He could hire Karl Rove.

Perry was a democrat. He will be quite surprised that anyone thinks this is a bad pick.. His horn is as sharp as the rest of the RINOs. His second amendment stance and pro-business record can't even wash the rest of the stink off. It's that bad. He is not what he proclaims.. Not even close.

Karl Rove works for Jeb Bush.

Those two will no doubt look for a grassroots Conservative for VP.

Perry is thinning that his campaign is only big enough for one narcissistic attention-whore. That will be Perry, not Palin.
