I have a blued savage 10ml-II. A friend of mine told me I could have his take off barrel from his stainless 10ml-II. I'm wondering if it is possible to swap his stainless barrel over to my 10ml-II blued. Thanks in advance

I don't know why not but if yours shoots as good as mine, I wouldn't mess with it.

I just don't want to worry about it rusting is why I'm wanting the stainless barrel and don't want my gun to get rusted over the years, because it is getting difficult to find these muzzleloaders

Why would it rust?
I have to admit that the blue on mine is pretty thin, but I keep it wiped down and no problems yet. I guess a swap would be easy enough, but I wouldn't do it if you are happy with what you have accuracy wise.

Some people are just too lazy to punch their barrels out after being afield.

Call Savage and ask if the threads are cut the same. I'd bet they are, and that's about all you need to be concerned about. Headspace shouldn't be an issue.

I must have been the only one with an inaccurate Savage 10 ML-II. Mine shoots patters not groups!

I'd be talking with Savage. Mine's an early one, not that that means a thing, but it's a good shooter.

Tried calling them and pretty sure I got the worst representative there. He was very unhelpful. May try again tomorrow
