Is anyone familiar with the work go George Wessinger, a SC gunsmith? I was recently given one of his builds employing a Win push feed action and am curious about his rep.
Thanks,
Bob

George has long since left this world, died 12-15 years ago. I knew him on a casual basis because he lived/worked out of Chapin S.C., maybe 25 miles from here. He was a hell of a 'smith and was known as one of the "go to" guys for work on Colt revolvers. He was also known to be slow and rather cantankerous but he knew his stuff. He got more into long gun work in his later years and he built my best friend a Remington Seven in .358 Win. It is an absolute tackdriver. BTW, his wife was an engraver and did his engraving. She continued for awhile after his death but I think she has given it up.

Thanks for the response.
I understood that he worked primarily with pistols.
The gun I received was built in 1992. I'll try to get out with it in the next day or three.
Best,
Bob
