Just wanted to get some opinions/comments on bowhunting elk out of a climbing stand....i'm thinking about trying this next year, i know it's going to mean alot of long boring days, but is seems to me you can hide your scent better and you're allowing elk to do what they want to do, rather than chase them in circles...thoughts?

Maybe if you're hunting over a water hole that they have to come into, it would work. For most situations I'd rather be on the ground, personally. You can arrange it so the wind's in your favor, and I'd rather be moving to get in on the animals, whether stalking silently or calling.

If you're hunting where water is scarce, a stand over a waterhole
Can work--they do that in Arizona.

Remember, once a bull has his harem, the cows have,
as much say, in where that herd is going as the bull does.

Before a bull has a harem, a wallow that seems to be busy can
be a possibility.

Having said that, MAGA.
