I have read in the past simons hardware was some sort of distributor for savage? Wondering the date ranges found in the rifle lettered to them? Thanks Chris

Chris, that 1899C with the pistol grip and shotgun butt (I am sure you saw it) lettered to Simmons. Either 1900 or 1902, I can't remember which off the top of my head.

My family SRC 1902 was bought in St. Louis I am told, but I have never lettered the rifle. It went on to Colorado, then back to Appalachia.

They were around for some time as I recall seeing a 99K that lettered to Simons.

My lettered 1899C s/n 23xxx came from there in 1901.

Hmm, I would have to look, I think this was was 23000 range also. Maybe they stocked a run of C's?
