Who are these guys? Their stuff is incredibly well thought out but seems too inexpensive to be well made?
If it sounds too got to be true .......
Anyone know if this stuff is actually well made quality gear? Or some Chinese knock offs? It seems like lots of emergency, police, and rescue folks are using this gear???

I bought my son a 5.11 Rush 72 backpack and it was of similar quality to a Camelbak Motherlode that I had. I found it to be well made. My son has used the pack for a number of years as a book bag, hiking pack and travel bag and it is still going strong.

I don't expect kifaru, but I don't want a kids school bag.

I've had one of their briefcases/messenger bags for a couple years. It's held up well and seems quite well made. I'd say their stuff is not Mystery Ranch quality at all, but good for the price.

Cabela's and Academy's here in TX sell them. Never looked at the tag to see where they are made, but I have several pair of their Khaki shorts that I love, and a couple of their button down shirts that have the Gun Pocket built in.
The Quality is as good or better than the similar Columbia brand Fishing shirts I like to wear. Very tough material & Wrinkle Free, too.

JJ, I have a similar pack from London Bridge. Its made in the USA.

JJ - they are good packs, reasonably well made for the price point, 99% are overseas made, as are their clothing lines, but as others have noted, they are meant for daily wear and use.
They are comparable to Camelbak, Eagle Arms, Blackhawk, etc for styles, duty use, and constrcution. 5-11 is the chief competition of Blackhawk, IMHO. They have captured a share of the First Responder/MIL/LE market by producing mass-marketed products that work, and they are consistant on the unit/department discounts, and run pretty decent price cuts on "last years" model for turn over. I tend to watch LAPolicegear.com for the 5-11 sales, and Amazon has some as well.
Made in USA, London Bridge is a private company, turning out excellent quality products, but the price point is usually a bit higher. Tactical Tailor is another private company, their products are usually bomb-proof as well, but usually more expensive. I'll watch e-bay for these makers, you can catch some decent buys if you watch.

Thanks, Exactly what I was looking for.
I guess anything after Kifaru is a step down, but You also pay a significant price point for Kifaru products!

I was pretty happy with the wifes 5.11 Select Carry pistol pouch. Made carrying the wifes SD40 and 2 extra magazines a breeze, it was well made and kept her pistol clean and dry. Their gear seems to be well thought out and built to last.
That's ok, I'll ass shoot a dink.
