Out of the two which is the better scope for the money? I have never owned a Vortex have two redfield revolution scopes though.

Never had a Diamondback either. I am plenty happy with the 3-9 take off for a $100. If it is not a re packaged VX-1, it is so close that I can't tell the difference. I would/will buy another in a heartbeat. I may even try the funky reticle next time. Mine is a duplex.
Put together in the USA, and backed by Leuopld, what is not to like at the price point. So far mine has survived the slamming bolt on a Mini-14.

The Vortex I owned had very clear glass. Probably better than the Redfield. Overall I liked the Redfield better though. Better eye relief, controls etc.

The Revolution is very close to a pre-2012 VX-2 in quality and features. In 2012 Leupold upgraded the entire VX lineup. Compared to current VX scopes the Revolution ranks just below a VX-1 in quality/features. Current VX-1's are basically the same as older VX-2's. Current VX-2's are essentially older VX-3's.
For my money I don't see ever actually needing anything better than the current VX-2's. And I'd not hesitate to use a current production VX-1 or the Revolution.

I've got 2 3-9x50 Revolutions and for the money they are great scopes. JMR40 summed it up nicely.

I'd rather a VX1 than either, for the money.
Revolution over Diamondback.
Vortex sure seems to have a lot QC issues. Never hear any bad about the Revolutions. And yes, I have owned more than one of each. They are all gone now though.
I may own another Revolution some day, but another Vortex isn't in the plans.....

The Revolution is a very easy scope to get behind, I've used a couple...my go to in that price range is Weaver Classic, K4, K6 or V9.

I don't always shoot Mausers, but when I do...I prefer VZ-24s.

I don't need another scope but I do want one for my little 250Ackley. Looking at the Revolution and VX1 but still like the idea of the Burris FFII 3-9 w/ballistic plex. I trust Ingwe's opinion on 2nd tier scopes because I think he is very practical when choosing a scope. He never tries to impress w/big dollar scopes...just wants the world to know that a man doesn't have to spend a fortune to get decent optics that will kill chit all over the world. The three scopes above all fit into that category. powdr

I still (reluctantly) own 2 FF2s. Both have lighted reticles and I paid $600 OTD for 3 of them. They are cerakoted white and reside on snow rifles. More specifically, predator rifles. A 243 and 22 mag respectively.
That said, I have broken 3 of them. I won't ever buy another or put one on a hard kicking rifle. BTDT.
I do like the new VX1s. Have 3 of them now. They are a bit better than the Revolutions IMO. But the latter still remains a solid value IMO.
The Weaver Classics are also an extremely good value. They are hella durable IME, and the glass is easily best in it's price range. Better than any FF2 IMO.
In short, skip the Burris, get one of the others......
