If I do a "barrel break in" procedure, what is the "preferred method"? Or should I just shoot it and clean as usual, as with any other rifle? What say you?

Unfortunate for you posting here on the Fire, perhaps the worst place to get gun advice anywhere on the "WWW".

I would do a break-in if it were my rifle, but I'm sure the next guy to post will tell you about a witch's brew bore coat or the like.

Best advice I can give is find a site where common sense abounds instead of "Consensus forming...

I thought the break in myth had been dispelled years ago as just superstition and voodoo.

The "consensus" is that it is unfortunate that you continue to submit yourself to the foolishness of the Campfire. Get help. Break your cycle of self abuse and find a forum where your sort of intelligence abounds. (By the way, are you a democrat?)

To the OP, I will stupidly say, just shoot it!

i've tried it both ways with many rifles. i see no differents. shooting it is breaking in a barrel.most guns will shoot better after 40-50 rds or so. if the tikka i started shooting a few weeks ago gets any better i conld shoot it once or 10 times and the target would look the same.tight groups!!
