From the prints it looks like the entire 700 threaded shank needs to be cut off and the barrel threaded for a Savage. Then chamber to desired cartridge. If I'm wrong - somebody correct me.
So a Rem barrel that is modified to fit a Savage will be .9" shorter - correct??

Earlier this year I had a 700 bbl rethreaded to Savage
In my case it was for a large shank Savage 1.118" diameter
Std shank Savage is 1.060"...so yes...rethread/rechamber & it
will be 1 1/2" or so shorter..this was 20 Practical both times
