How about a sticky in the classifieds like the good guy list except for bad guys? People can just post their experience and we'd all be forewarned. Be a great service to protect consumers doing business on your site.

The only way I have seen that actually work, is if the thread remains locked and only the moderator can add to it. And that was in extreme cases where deception and intended malice was evident. In those cases, it does protect the members who buy or sell from being victimized. Usually that action got them banned as well.
But, to have a sticky so two guys can have a trainwreck over whether that insignificant scratch was on the scope before or after it was shipped wouldn't serve anyone well.
